State Projects
Every year, ISSDAR members contribute thousands of hours of service to our communities. Under the guidance of each State Regent, we also highlight worthy organizations and projects, making a lasting difference for the citizens of Idaho!

In the Riendeau Administration, ISSDAR members are providing financial support to the Idaho Youth ChalleNGe Academy (IDYCA), a residential high school located in Idaho. This high school is a division of the Nation Guard Youth ChalleNGe program. The campaign aids in the IDYCA's mission of reclaiming the lives of 16-to-18-year old high school dropouts, producing program graduates with the values, life skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to succeed as responsible and productive citizens of Idaho. In 2026, the first $5,000 generated from our fundraising efforts were donated to the IDYCA to help them build an outdoor classroom!

In 2025, under the Beller Administration, the Wapiti Fire in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area burned over 130,000 acres of Idaho's most beautiful forest around Stanley, Idaho. Over six months, ISSDAR raised $25,000 to pay for 10 days of pinecone harvesting, the first step in reforesting the most badly burned areas. The harvest collected enough pinecone seeds to grow over half a million trees, which will be ready to plant in and around the Stanley Lake area in the spring of 2027.

In 2023, ISSDAR and the Beller Administration began a two-year effort to raise the visibility of Idaho's military caregivers. In partnership with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation's Hidden Heroes Initiative, Idaho's 15 chapters worked to obtain proclamations of support from their state, county, and city partners. Over 100 proclamations were gathered, all demonstrating support for military caregivers and creating a local government commitment to remember our veterans and caregivers all year long.

In 2024, ISSDAR had the honor of attending the christening of the United States Navy's newest attack submarine, the USS Idaho. A project of the McClintick Administration, Idaho Daughters raised over $5,000 to support the USS Idaho "Dolphin Fund", a scholarship fund for the children of submariners stationed aboard the vessel. The USS Idaho relies on sonar technology developed in north Idaho, making the project especially meaningful for our chapters from the same part of the state.
